Hey friends - hope all good and Happy New Year :)

Very pleased to announce that our first release of 2026 is something really special - a beautiful interpretation from the wonderful musical polymath, Kayla Painter.

Out next Wednesday 14th January, digital and CD editions. As always the physical edition comes with the unique long-form version of the album and bespoke six panel digi-pack, with separate artwork and glass-mastered CD.

Listening party Thursday 15th January at 19:00 UK time.

Kayla is a guiding light in the modern experimental music world - with a list of achievements it’s impossible to sum up in this limited format. From a string of albums solo and in collaboration, to much in demand immersive live performances, to lecturing, to hosting radio shows and much more besides - all with widespread critical acclaim - she’s an artist with endless creativity and energy.

So I’m delighted to welcome her to quiet details with her stunning album, Tectonic Particles

A gorgeous exploration of textural and harmonic cohesion - full of delicate melodic phrasing, environmental recordings and nuanced sound-design - this is Kayla doing what she does so well, crafting beautiful sound-spaces to get lost in.

Huge thanks to Kayla for this album - so excited to share it with you.

For now please check out some of her previous music - use this as a jumping off point and keep digging, a fantastic body of work.

Also coming is the second run of qd38 Aiko Takahashi - so pleased to make this electro-acoustic marvel available again.
